It's more than that. I've seen a concerted effect from the top to trick people into thinking it's Whites attacking Asians. There is an army of these agitprop Asians that they on call for any instances of violence to distract from what really happened. Even when the suspect was a Black man (which it often is), they still condemn "White Supremacy" and blame it for what happened. Of course, it all makes sense, as the racist White Supremacist system is what drove the black man to stalk an Asian woman to her apartment and then slaughter her for literally no reason.

Back when the "stop Asian hate" thing was going on, Kimberly Yam (a journalist from NBC) published an article with sources tied to a schizo-tier google doc showing some long cope alleging that a majority of all instances of crime Asian's report have a White suspect, and so it's really all Whites attacking them. 

 Had a mild argument with a Viet-American friend about anti-asian assaults, and he said "we can't deport all the MAGA people"

Genuinely took me by surprise when he thought it was conservatives assaulting anyone
