Got a new Pixel 8 and have another Pixel 6a sitting here as my backup.
Very nice! Thinking about going graphene but not sure which device
 Recommendedation is a Pixel

They are the only devices that allow the bootloader to lock after installing the new OS.

My 8 seems to be a little laggy at times. But I prefer the smaller ones. I don't like to carry huge phones.
Any concerns with the new AI chips in the phones?
Not necessarily and for a few reasons.

I'm more pro-AI than anti. AI running locally is better than running in the cloud. I would hope more local controls could be had over time.

There's inevitably a worry about any chip on the phone. But this is no different on any other phone.

And, to that end, within five years, all devices will likely have an AI chip. One could refuse to upgrade but they they face the security risk of using outdated tech with no update support.
Got it. No concerns about data overreach using AI chips? Mainly talking about this

I haven't followed or listened to Brax for a few years but I'll give it a listen.
With GrapheneOS not concerned because they are disabled and can be verified. We are shipping Pixel 6 + GrapheneOS + Support right now:
