It's downstream of hatred for the unaccountable managerial class that doesn't even mask it's own hatred for their fellow citizens. Like many other issues, it's hard to be betrayed time after time and then take them at their word.

Either that or everyone turned into radical ancaps all of a sudden and hate the very concept of urban planning. ​:chad:​

This is assuming you're not talking about smart cities where the plan is to make the surveillance state entirely inescapable.
The two ideas get discussed interchangeably a lot. 

 @7396bceb I mean purely the concept of re-designing urban planning to be accessible vs. sprawling suburbia where car ownership is a requirement.
