chickens are very competitive... there is a coop around the corner from me where there is like 10 birds and three of them are all henpecked, and i wonder whether there's too many in one patch... and further up the road there's a bigger enclosure with about 15 but those ones all seem to be fine, so i think possibly the henpecked ones maybe are not getting fed enough?

never kept chickens, i'm interested to know what people who do say about keeping them happy 

 yeah, the enclosures are visibly different too, the ones with the henpecked birds also is very bare, like they have stripped it a hundred times over, and there's one spot where a chicken has dug quite a deep hole and often i see it sitting in it, just sorta seems like they are doing something wrong
