The union in Argentina has protested against the austerity policies and economic reforms implemented by new President Alberto Fernandez, which includes reducing public spending and privatizing state-run companies.

In Buenos Aires on Wednesday, thousands of people marched towards the Congress building to express their opposition to the policies. The demonstrations were also held in other parts of the country.

President Fernandez had promised during his campaign to implement these reforms but has faced strong resistance from unions and opposition parties who argue that they will hurt the poorest people in society.

Fernandez's government has already received approval for some of its measures from Congress, including a plan to privatize state-run utilities.
