 They sucked at the time. Born in 1968, I spent the 80ā€™s resenting how empty and stupid they were compared to the 60ā€™s I missed. Now that Iā€™m 55, I know every decade and era probably sucks at the time, and only nostalgia burnishes it into something better than it was.
