I took down all the amaranth flowers/seed heads yesterday and ended up with a nice amount of seeds which I'm saving while the tub of heads got spread ALL around the farm. I really hope to have a forest of the stuff growing each year. The wood cover build has begun and I got the front wall up. The post holes weren't too bad to dig but half of the rear ones I am not looking forward to with all the roots I'll have to get through. It's coming together pretty well though and today I will keep at it to hopefully have the structure in and locked solid. #Homesteading #farming #diystr #gardening #hive #peakd #dailyblog #plebchain https://peakd.com/hive-114308/@flemingfarm/harvests-garbage-ties-amaranth-harvest-and-spreading-snake-tom-wood-cover-build-begins-monday?ref=flemingfarm
I grew a black seeded variety of amaranth one year. "Polish" i think. Spent many years pulling out of gardens. Very weedy! I grew a white seeded one a few years later which I liked better and less weedy.
