 @7b682b86 I find that I'm forgiving towards books with so-so plots more than I forgive dull characters. A good example is "The Blade Itself", which I'm reading right now. It has multiple characters, and damn, Jezal's chapters are such a slog even though his story is interesting too 😅 
 @66e742bb I analyze stories SO much. I've read books where I wanted to weep for the character because they deserved a better story. I remember one  where the characters were amazing, but it was nothing but a series of unrelated events. 🤔 

On the flip side, I've read tales where I admired the intricate plot that kept me guessing, but if the MC exited the story I'd be really grateful. I'm just someone who wants to like the MC. I have to care. 😃 
 @7b682b86 "I've read books where I wanted to weep for the character because they deserved a better story." That was me when reading Eileen 😅 It's the typical case of a book that was *too* character-driven and forgot about the plot lol
