Yeah, I'm just saying it's not an amazing way, I think people also want better 'trending'. It's a fairly stagnant group for the most part, I'm not sure how these notes are considered trending. Bit it appears to be likes/zaps/replies. So it shows you p boring notes from high follower accounts. (Likes/replies/and yes even zaps are often read-receipts).

I have suggested just as an idea that %reactions could be a better factor to throw in, I don't know what the specific numbers or % would be but... Let's say.... eg a 100k follower account getting 60 likes wouldn't show up, (that's just an average post for them) but a 100 followers account with 20 likes may show up. With other factors in the mix too maybe. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

It's also further stagnated with client recommendations, so this scenario will further embed. So it's not really trending notes. It's often normal notes from the most followed accounts. And not useful for discovery.
