Some may think “word of mouth” marketing is not scalable… I think it’s the best tool we have.

The power of friends helping friends onboard to nostr has NOT been explored enough. IMHO

I agree. With that said, it takes time and people need to put in the work.
 I’m designing an incentive program.

- Starts by measuring the effectiveness of “social onboarding” as a factor of new account activity over first three months.
- Then uses this data to discover and reward the “advocates” who have earliest and most persistent contact with new accounts.

Why not?
It’s a WIP with @I)ruid called Top Nostr Advocates. Has a single measurable outcome of increasing retention for new accounts, through the gamification of “friends onboarding friends”. @The Nostr Advocate will announce (when it starts and) winners each month.

We are bullish for social onboarding.

Here’s a draft of our data collection algo. Your feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Also … @Mazin has been developing an AI powered content classification engine for nostr.wine.

Wonder if those classifications could be aggregated to suggest “follows of interest” for new accounts looking for topical content?

Another way (better than “trending lists”) to help get new users connected to the “right peeps” during onboarding. I could prolly get sponsorship to integrate into my onboard client. Seems fundable on its own right.

Social onboarding into Webs of Trust needs more attention and funding.
Thanks for the mention! If anyone wants to try those out we have a free API: https://docs.nostr.wine/api/classification
