What (in your opinion) is it that so many cubans (and asians) want to find home in the west under western standards, ... with that high level of taxes, bad medical support and all that bad stuff you listed? 

Are they all brainwashed? 

 The majority of people on earth are stupid.

 Yes. I would.

But I find especially the more clever and educated wanting to leave regimes like cuba, thailand, kasachstan.  

 Strange, many people here in Canada want to leave the anti-family society here and move to traditional places like Russia.

Ive seen documentaries about many Americans and Brits doing the same.  Farmers, policemen, all walks of life.
