The trouble is that argument is a spiral. The government might pretend they can't access signal so people will use signal and they can snoop with it. On the other hand they might be happy with the suspicion they can access signal because they can't, and they don't want people to use it. And that spiral is never ending. Unless you're only ever going to talk freely with people who are naked and submerged in the sea, you have to trust someone.

That #argument is fine as far as it goes, but it only works if you take it far enough. And far enough means, at the very least, you only use #opensource #software, and you never use wifi. At its logical conclusion it means you can't live in a town. You can't use electronics and you can't talk freely with anyone wearing clothes. Again, at some point you just have to trust someone. Nothing changes!

Ah Gotcha! They have stopped accepting Monero I noticed, but that might just be down to the change of payment processor for all I know. They used to accept it. I must admit I just use Prepaid Visa cards now. You can buy them in most Supermarkets here for cash.
