Isn’t Mutiny non-custodial? Why would it be a rug pull if you can still withdraw your funds?
I can’t
Damn, I’m sorry… I hope it can be fixed. I don’t think the Mutiny’s team aimed to rug pull users though. It’s another example of how dysfunctional #Lightning is… Not being able to withdraw funds from a non-custodial wallet is deceptive marketing though…
It is non-custodial but you have to be a hacker and run some own shit at home or something. Maybe a LN node or something. Don‘t really know tbh. I want that stuff to work. And they just stopped working. Well, I guess they gave „notice“. But that didn’t reach me. Anyway, luckily it was just a few thousand sats, but still annoying.
So because you don't understand how it works and how to extract your sats it's their fault? Businesses come and go, people have other goals in life - it's not your decision to make and besides, they announced their demise way in advance by the end of the year. Deal with it and stop bitching and spreading bullshit.
Maybe Mutiny was transparent about it but if not they should have made it clear that you’re at risk of loosing your funds in this scenario if you can’t run your own node.
Nobody is going to lose their sats. Their wallet can still be used, they only stopped developing the mobile and desktop app. If you use neither you wouldn't even realize they're out of business.
I'm pissed off because everyone and their grandmother was hyping Mutiny and a few months later it's like "oh sorry, too bad if you don't spend your whole life on social media and miss when we announce that what we actually built was horse shit and now go fuck yourself". But yeah, theoretically I can spend the time I don't have because I've got a wife and kid figuring out how this shit works and getting my sats back. Great product 👍🏽
I beleive Mutiny Wallet integrated Fediment, a kind of custodial lightning web of trust, for ease of onboarding. If I had to guess, the issue might be related to this. I was looking into self-hosting Mutiny and saw that Fediment was going to be the only option I could implement, and I ran in the other direction.
