A lot of people became disillusioned with the Lightning Network, believing that it's this yield generating machine for Bitcoin. Many of those people have since churned out.

The reality is that the lightning network is built to support commerce and btc yield is an externality.

#lightningnetwork #lightning
 I've started a small node.

I won't have any massive channels.

I won't be raking in the bucks.

But my channel opens will be to orga and businesses I like and appreciate.

An investment/donation of liquidity.
 I predict that @saylor
uses his massive stack to create the great global commercial grade #Bitcoin payments network
I can't speak for others; only for myself.

I have always had my own nodes running since 2017, sometimes lnd, sometimes cln, sometimes both.
At no time did I have the feeling (I have emphasized this several times at X and also here) that
1. - I can pack in funds in the volume I want because I didn't feel (my funds are) safe and
2. - the node / nodes worked well for me. There were mostly connection problems, failures, error messages.

For me, this had absolutely nothing to do with yield generation.

I am not disillusioned either.
I'm just still looking for the best possible souvereign solution for me in the LN network.

Lol, ik thats true, but ppl who aren't "crypto tech" savvy don't really understand how running a lightning node works.. when you look at it you aren't really generating any substantial yield(you could make a lot more by running another node in some other random chain) fees are very low and you need to put in quite a lot of btc in your node to make it worth while, and all "yield" generated from btc comes from doing actual work, both mining and running lightning nodes.🤦
