How do you expect the State (or any malicious actor) to not only conduct surveillance, but taxation operations based upon that surveillance, if the State can no longer use explicit or implicit taxation to further fund its surveillance and taxation efforts? Because there is a MASSIVE difference between paying different friends and family and strangers and between one's own wallets with zero care in the world, and having to separate everything, compartmentalize, do not cross-transfer, never link funds from different sources, and do all this with the thought in mind that perhaps one day one will be interfacing with a KYC service that does chainanalysis and one's past deeds will be retroactively exposed and some opaque algorithm will be used to decide whether one can or cannot access the service. lol. Yeah, it really is. One (Monero) is an actual private currency on a protocol level, the other (BTC) a highly regulated historically performative store of value, not private at all on a protocol level at all. They work well together.

It's not the main Haveno repo, but it seems that being more decentralized might be the way moving forward so as not to have a central point of failure. Still not 100% on what the official repo will do if/when they launch.
