Your heart is in the right place, like liberals who want to help the poor. You’re annoying, but we mostly leave you alone, let you concern troll and play in your sandbox because: 1. You’ll get it eventually. 2. You’re not a significant threat to Bitcoin’s monetary dominance or protocol integrity. 3. Bitcoin’s “privacy problem” is largely overblown and already has numerous remedies, with more on the way…perhaps in part due to your nagging. How do you expect the State (or any malicious actor) to not only conduct surveillance, but taxation operations based upon that surveillance, if the State can no longer use explicit or implicit taxation to further fund its surveillance and taxation efforts? Bitcoin fixes its own privacy issues through the integrity of its property rights. Surveil all you want, how are you going to pay for it? nostr:note1fg5gppzuvpd2rr03jn4p2xt9c0vwavpans5eu2zg47qv0t87g4xs2uams0
And yes I’m aware, many liberals who want to help the poor are tyrants in disguise. The surficial, everyday human dignity ones.
John 12:3-8 — Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (he who was about to betray him), said, “Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and having charge of the moneybag he used to help himself to what was put into it. Jesus said, “Leave her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of my burial. For the poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me.”
My fear is that, with AI, the marginal cost of surveillance plummets to such a degree that tyranny can be conducted efficiently
Still have to steal the funds somehow in thermodynamic reality…for a cost.
100% - it’s gonna be a wild fight
It's so damn hard to send a few goons with guns to kick down your door and set a few examples to scare the rest. We've already seen Phoenix wallet, Wasabi, Agoradesk, etc fold immediately after Samourai was taken down You live in a fantasy
1. Pretty condescending. Maybe YOU will get it eventually? 2. Who said I want to be? My bags are heavy with BTC too. 3. Only someone who doesn't use onchain BTC could say that with a straight face. Bitcoin privacy and anonymity is a disaster, always has been. Seems to me only someone not very intelligent or someone with a giant ideological axe to grind could come to such faulty conclusions. I generally like your notes and don't think you're lacking in intelligence. But I gotta ask you man, have you even ever used #monero ?! Because there is a MASSIVE difference between paying different friends and family and strangers and between one's own wallets with zero care in the world, and having to separate everything, compartmentalize, do not cross-transfer, never link funds from different sources, and do all this with the thought in mind that perhaps one day one will be interfacing with a KYC service that does chainanalysis and one's past deeds will be retroactively exposed and some opaque algorithm will be used to decide whether one can or cannot access the service. Two very different realities, let me tell you. I should know, I've experienced them both. Have you?

Very insightful.
You got the highest two levels reversed.

Ackchyually many people do start off with cRyPto these days before they even touch bitcoin. I assume.
Not what she meant, read it again. But that’s true. This is an older meme sir, but it checks out.
lol. Yeah, it really is. One (Monero) is an actual private currency on a protocol level, the other (BTC) a highly regulated historically performative store of value, not private at all on a protocol level at all. They work well together.
With local monero gone, how exactly do you get monero without having bitcoin first?
If you’re in the USA kraken, there are atms, doesn’t bisq have other methods other then crypto?
There are also the xmr decks but I haven’t used them yet…
And OFC haveno-reto 🤙🔥 nostr:nevent1qqszdqtsatk6rwuv2d6smhvtlkasugms7ws6tqa5f037y0mlez950lspz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj7q3qge0tzdqy6useekgu9d9g5l3s3t2wpx7p9xxuprz7ajzjaxl4mgysxpqqqqqqzfly8kc
That is awesome! I didn’t realize that it was live yet. It doesn’t like the tor settings in whonix but got it running. Will be nice once the order book fills out
It's not the main Haveno repo, but it seems that being more decentralized might be the way moving forward so as not to have a central point of failure. Still not 100% on what the official repo will do if/when they launch. Either way, the code is open source and the arbitration seems to be in check, and it's fucking awesome to see this happening within the Monero community 🤙🔥 https://i.nostr.build/Z5q6x.jpg
I've already done a couple exchanges on it successfully for what its worth. It's only been around several weeks but order book is growing every week. Here is the SimpleX group chat for it https://simplex.chat/contact/#/?v=2-4&smp=smp%3A%2F%2FSkIkI6EPd2D63F4xFKfHk7I1UGZVNn6k1QWZ5rcyr6w%3D%40smp9.simplex.im%2FMplYm7uxopKyUOrKqnWySpXQIGxoJWYB%23%2F%3Fv%3D1-2%26dh%3DMCowBQYDK2VuAyEAs8PcRwnf_-H30yXfwV0MSbka9I_xBeVNr4vKJNoReBw%253D%26srv%3Djssqzccmrcws6bhmn77vgmhfjmhwlyr3u7puw4erkyoosywgl67slqqd.onion&data=%7B%22type%22%3A%22group%22%2C%22groupLinkId%22%3A%22YT2t__GnjpZ1W2MjJAz6Sw%3D%3D%22%7D
you don't you do a forex from bitcoin to monero (if you have use case for monero. some people do).
exactly the pattern I followed
