Tend to agree with your view on the first point.

However I would contend the Boomers are almost a different species. Humanity has never seen such a generation before. Everyone before and since has been concerned about the wellbeing of who and what comes next in a way they just aren’t and in large part I think that’s because of how indoctrinated and bought into the fiat system they have been.

Recently I posted a quote about identity which has been on my mind: nostr:note1rqgpl4ylw9sf72nl4wrkpg2vur43whwppu25vjjmjm9t9jesa84sycwrsd

And in my “Goldbugs aren’t Bitcoiners” note I wrote “And this is why the Goldbugs ultimately failed - they had no positive vision to articulate for the world, and thus no identity for others to adopt.”

Goldbugs tend to be Boomers or late GenX at least. Your point that there is nuance I accept, but I’m thinking about the delineation of identity - both in terms of a positive one that people can adopt which I believe has to come from Millennials for a strong future, but inherit in that is the negative/out group whose values need to be rejected.

I understand that most on #nostr would prefer to focus on the positive vision which is the more noble pursuit but the dirty work of “who is not” must still be done.

So it’s not about “hate” but rather, how the negative traits that we want pushed out of culture are to be framed.
