Let's sue Janet Yellen. Seriously. https://blog.lopp.net/congress-is-criminalizing-privacy/
Is there not Cypherpunk precedent on this?
Did u know legally citizens paying taxes are alsou nconstitutional. There's no legal basis to actually comply, its a ruse that took hold and they throw people in jail because those people can't afford the lawyer fees to fight back.
Anonymity is the single most valuable thing any of us have and yet most will throw it away at the first opportunity. Sure, fame may get you laid once or twice or give you a few extra dollars (gross) in a bank account. But almost every famous person I know ends up spending most of their time and money trying to regain their anonymity, which is sadly impossible. #grownostr #thinkdangerously
Any lawyers here?
If the Supreme Court ruled the CTA is unconstitutional, how can they enforce those policies still?
It wasn't the Supreme Court, it was a lower Federal court. And I skimmed the judgement but don't understand why it would only apply to the plaintiffs.
Strong sense of dejavu since Europe has been doing this ultimate beneficial ownership database (UBO) thing for many years now. Initially they wanted it publicly searchable. It was often named the Kidnap List, because that's it's main use case. It also includes charities which rich people often put in the name of their children. Safe bet this will all be on the darknet. The moral: if you want privacy, stop being an entrepreneur, don't ever create jobs!
Strong dejavu. We've had the Kidnap List (Ultimate Beneficial Ownership - UBO) in Europe for several years already. Initially they wanted to make it publicly searchable. In any case it's guaranteed to end up on the darknet. Jellen is old. Better to sue individual FATF members, who are ultimately behind this crap - and are attacking bitcoin too.
Love it. As the cypherpunks have said we will only have privacy if we defend it.
