Here’s the thing. Nobody cares. You’re either useful to others or you’re not. Doesn’t matter what you look like, what culture you’re from, what your background is, what happened to you, etc... All noise. Are you useful to me? That’s all anyone is thinking about you.
You got to give us a heads up when you're going on a pod. That would be useful.
There's also unconditional love.
For women and children yes.
What about your friends?
Ancient Greeks had different words for different kinds of love. Unconditional love is for our children. We shouldn’t expect it from anywhere else, even if we didn’t get it from our parents.
I feel the same way. Maybe that's why I try not to be one-dimensional. It's raises the likelihood that I'll be useful.

Careful, that is borderline Sapiens-esque thinking. It pre-supposes that all motives are driven my selfish behaviour. Which is fundamentally wrong and gives a false (albeit seemingly intuitive and WEF friendly) impression of human action. If this were true there would be no Bitcoin, no Open Source movement and no cypherpunks. Not forget the nuance, the details and apparent outlier cases are important!! Enjoy your work and get the impression you’re a deep thinker. Don’t fall for that oversimplification of human action trick.
Exactly. People claim they don't wanna be used, but they don't give their time or attention to anyone, without expecting to use them in some form.
like it or not this is true 🤷 nostr:note19ytk8qw5utceehk5l8k8r4x7d3erfgs0luyhfkdy264p6kensc0qtjqua9
Wisdom, is understanding that useful to me is also useful to the world at large and vice versa
The 8 forms of capital can offer some insight into how to spend ones time being useful vs aquiring more tangible forms of capital. Financial, material and natural are all forms of capital that one can "trade" for but intellectual, experiencial, social and cultural forms of capital are ones that can only be gained by action. More usefulness can be accomplished the more these less tangible forms of capital one has accrued. Spending time learning, experiencing, and participating can yield massive gains to the resilience of ones wealth. Time spent soley focused on building tangible forms of capital is often a brittle strategy.
Every relationship in life is a cost benefit analysis.
