Wall Street started slow on Wednesday, threatening its four-day winning streak. Futures for the S&P 500 slid 0.2% before the bell, while futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average ticked down less than 0.1%. Uber tumbled 7.4% after reporting a loss in its most recent quarter. Reddit jumped 11% in premarket after posting a smaller loss than expected. In Europe, Germany's DAX rose 0.4% and the CAC 40 in Paris jumped 0.9%. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 lost 1.6%. The dollar rose to 155.44 Japanese yen from 154.50 yen. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index shed 0.8% and the Shanghai Composite index gave up 0.6%. U.S. benchmark crude oil fell $1 to $77.38 per barrel. The euro dropped to $1.0747 from $1.0755. On Tuesday, the S&P 500 edged 0.1% higher, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.1%, and the Nasdaq composite slipped 0.1%.
