I'll bet it never occurred to her she'd end up groveling to them three years later while covered in her own blood.  Unfortunately it means she hasn't learned much since she's effectively praising officers that (as far as I can tell) aren't really there to prevent crimes like carjackings anymore. All thanks to her.
