I don't understand the too much work argument  

 Bruh... Do you live in the world? People are so computer illiterate. Now you have to teach how to run software on an operating system they've never heard of. Open channels. Manage liquidity. New coiners whose stack is not even worth the fees at times to open channels. A self custody lightning node is a lot of work.  

 That's like saying having a modem for internet is too much work 

 Yup 

 Plugging in a modem and running a lightning node are not equivalent.  

 Pretty damn close 

 Even that is to hard for some people…
