 My only wish is that decimal values for Bitcoin transactions would get totally replaced by sats.

 Naa. That's like wanting to replace light-years with meters. 
These days we add multipliers milli, kilo, mega etc to the basic unit and then we might as well use bitcoin as the reference unit.
Down around the satoshi range you'd be looking at nanoBTC (1 nBTC = 0.1 satoshi) and microBTC (1 uBTC = 100 satoshi).
I see no need for satoshis at all actually ...
