Trying umbrel again. It was down for over a year because I didn’t want to deal with the constant crashes.
I love Umbrel, but it's also given me a lot of headaches. Start9 is easier to backup. Indon'tbeven know how to back up Umbrel since they revamped the OS.
had similar issues with Umbrel. went to start9 and never looked back.
I like them both.
I think it is pretty solid these days! I've had no issues what so ever
Same, I ended up moving to another distro (mynodebtc.com) - not had a spot of bother since. But then mynode isn’t as fancy and doesn’t do as many other things. It just does a really good job of being a node for btc and LN and other ecosystem stuff (jam, nostr, etc).
Start9 is stable.
My original umbrel on RPi4 failed, but then I went with an OrangePi5 w/16GB ram and configured to boot from an M.2 rather than the SD card. Been running great with the Orange Pi so far and can handle more load. Problem now is Umbrel updated their OS again so I do need to reconfigure for that when I have time. Not a priority though.
