Mozilla just bought Anonym, an Ad Platform.

You can't make this shit up.

I guess privacy fighters either die early or live long enough to use their privacy credits to acquire control over people's data and sell it out for "profit".
Show me the incentives and I’ll show you your cap table
What browser can we now use?
Use Firefox but fine tune it
https://github.com/yokoffing/Betterfox
 Don’t use forks
don’t use shit with no eyes on them or ones that will shit on your experience
Use what gets most eyes on the code and fine tune it.
Use betterfox
 Is it on mobile?
On Android but running FF beta
https://github.com/yokoffing/Betterfox/issues/240
 Why not use a fork?
 Couple of reasons
They’re fully dependent on the original software
They have a lot less eyes reviewing them
Often with 1 or couple of people
They may eventually fizzle out and end development
It costs money and time not enough to go around
Yeah that's my problem with forks. They may not get security updates in a timely manner
I do like the NoScript extension for Firefox on my old Windows laptop however.
It's open source. GrapeneOS is based on AndroidOS without Google's tentacles. Tor Browser is a modified version of FireFox LibreWolf is anothet great privacy-first fork of FF. There's no need to bounce from FF forks. I haven't used their main browser as a daily driver for years. Maybe soon we will finally get GraphenOS Vanadium for desktop. It is by far the best browser for privacy and security on mobile.
 Thank you.
 Chromium is ungoogled

Vanadium on GrapheneOS

i've been using mozilla for a few weeks now but i just hate mozilla

good call, time to go back to ol' chromium
lol, and fuck it, i'm building it from sauce
Now you're talking. But holy shit browsers are big complicated things.
I switched from Mozilla to Brave some time ago.
I tried Mullvad browser and I really, really wanted to make it my default browser but too many websites just wouldn’t work.
Tracking and spying are the inescapable norm on the internet.
I use ungoogled chromium keep it simple.
Those builds are unmonitored and I've picked up ones with malware in it. So ungoogled chromium is a no for me.
 Thanks for pointing it out.
Anything outside of regular Firefox will do, since they do a better job than what Mozilla does. Do not use ANY Chromium based browser under any circumstances, for you are COMPROMISED if you do.
 What's the problem with chromium?
Ad-blocking with Chromium is neutered with Manifest V3, especially with uBlock Origin, which has a "Lite" version because of these filter rule requirements.
 AdGuard Home for the win
They will live long and build fortresses of freedom
Mozilla has been dying since they started receiving money from Googl$ a long time ago.

- They don't listen to user feedback

- They use telemetry to track users

- They haven't been a privacy browser for a long time. You have to use a nightly on mobile and remove the tracking stuff manually and even then... who knows.

I gave it up for lent long ago.

it would be nice to see a new browser come but I'm not holding my breath. Until then, I am sticking with Cromite.

they also don't have a setting to not be nagged to enable DRM for shit like spotify also, which annoys me intensely
 Exactly.
No browsers is safe. 3 engines left, all primarily developed by big tech companies. It's mpossible to make a new browser because of the obscene complexity of the web, the creation of a new web browser would be comparable in effort to the Apollo program or the Manhattan project. https://drewdevault.com/2020/03/18/Reckless-limitless-scope.html

Replaceable Nostr events could replace most text-based websites.
