So lemme explain it: First of all, nostr is a network of relays who relay ("forward") data coming from the user while also saving it. The user is the one who verifies and creates data. Do you know what a computer terminal is? This looks a little bit like it. The data is retrieved from the relays and is being sorted by the client(user), based on what it needs (search results etc).
Wow, thanks this is very helpful.
Youre welcome. So many clients (altough nostr is still in an early phase) support following hashtags: to do this, you need to search in the searchbar for global messages with the hashtags that you like: for example, #homesteading #bitcoin #linux #nostr or anything else. There will probably somewhere a button to follow this hashtag, so if you find enough nice content, you can follow it and those messages will be in saved in your local feed.
