 I've got mixed feelings about talking about this in front of the kids (3 and 6). I don't know what they are going to say to their friends in school and who they will then tell. 
 Just telling them what bitcoin is shouldn’t be a problem. Now if you tell them where you keep your keys and how much it’s worth, etc. well then they certainly might run off and go tell their kids how “cool and rich” you are (or whatever). 

There are a great many number of ways in which you can talk about things without being stupid. 

In other words, your child can know and understand how money works without having to go into how much cash you have and how to unlock your safe.
