 Check the paper itself. See that the math makes sense to you. Try to understand the consequences.
The extremism behind it is not concentrated around Bitcoin because of Bitcoin. It's concentrated around Bitcoin because of the worlds problems that Bitcoin can solve od significantly redirect/restructure.

 Congrats! I postponed reading the whitepaper for years. With the excuse of having more important things to do. I copied it from one storage to another and carried it with me, always telling myself that I'll read it right after the next thing I was doing. Once I read it, nothing was more important. Welcome to the cult!
