Binance said it would protect its past or present intellectual property and aim to alleviate harm from “unnecessary confusion or unwarranted fears about the publication of private data,” hence why it issued a takedown request with GitHub and is pursuing legal action against the user.
According to multiple reports, a highly sensitive cache of code, infrastructure diagrams, internal passwords, and other technical information belonging to cryptocurrency giant Binance was exposed on a publicly accessible GitHub repository for months. Binance managed to have GitHub remove the data under a copyright takedown request, but not before it was viewed by 404 Media and other individuals
