I know that I was raised by a single woman. I watched her work hard, educate herself, become a home owner and receive a PHD. I was there along side her as she accomplished her dreams. I also listened to her tell me to avoid feminist teachings because it’s one thing to get on a high horse to argue and another to live the life you’re arguing about. She lived the boss babe life and let it be known that having a husband and raising a family was definitely what I wanted.
I know that I was a little girl raised to be a wife and mother because that’s the only way to be sure you’re leaving the world better than you got it. I also understand that arguments like yours lead women to a life of loneliness. It’s all empowerment until you’re 57 and have no one to rely on.
Sure, women are people but a woman was given fallopian tubes, mammary glands, and a uterus for a reason. Having a child doesn’t stop anything. My mom was superwoman to me but had she not had a child and only been an individual she would’ve died alone.
