Honestly this is the kind of attitude that has prevented it from happening. It's the logic that if only humans went back to fighting with spears, we'd once again 'be tough'. Except that isn't how humans have conquored nature. Look closer- even the spear is an invention of the mind.

I proudly state I am entitled to use my brain to overcome challenges, and will damn well riticule anyone that tries to imply that we as humans would be better served enduring unnecessary hardship for the argument that suffering is somehow good for us.

Despicable. 

 There is a mindset among some who believe that suffering and hardship home the human spirit and engender innovation and strength in them. However, humanity has always used their intelligence to rule the world, we’ve always created, invented and built things to make our lives easier. It’s not linear.
