That’s what people said… “they’ll stop doing it once they reach a year old.

They’re 1.5 years and if anything it’s getting worse 😐
must be a breed specific thing then

i know that russian blues continue to play like kittens for as long as 4 years sometimes

probably need to start making boundaries, i know one thing for sure, cats are not allowed in bedrooms, their circadian cycle is completely in conflict with humans, probably need to do the same thing with the computer lab by the sounds of it (or make a computer lab space even - yeah this is one big advantage of desktop computers too... less problems with failing cables).
Buying a pack of those eva foam "safety mats" & putting them around the house might help. In general if you get them toys & things they like destroying more they usually go for those first. Also wadded up paper or note cards make for great toys. They need fresh ones from time to time because they seem to like them crispy. And just some plain string or ribbon can be good too. When they get wound up throw a wad of paper or break out a laser pointer.
haha yeah, don't waste money on "cat toys" they prefer scrunched up paper and pieces of string and computer cables and random beetles that got unlucky and came inside

the cables can be a real hassle... much easier with desktops to get a good cable management set so there's nothing for them to bat at
oh yeaaaahh russian blues love playing "fetch" also, literally can stop them doing anything at all by throwing a scrunched up piece of paper across the room past them, it's quite hilarious, one of the best features of the breed other than the pretty silver hair
