People zapped more because it was new. Many zapped too much and its unsustainable. With time you find better way. In bear zaps worth less so they are fatter but in bull zaps are smaller but more plentiful, unless you didn’t stack enough, or zapped everything out like a noob
Ultimately it’s good that the novelty wears off and actual economic value exchanges occur. Whether that be content related, services and resources like relays/media hosts, physical goods, etc.
Likes and follows actually have value, but the returns are delayed. Same way zapping can eventually be more profitable than stacking. You have to work to expand your reach, to eventually acquire enough paying customers, to sustain a business. The feed is very thin during 🐻 markets, so any activity on Nostr will raise your reach disproportionally, within a short period of time. You are, for a time, the only thing "on".
