And their algorithm’s purpose trickles down to shareholders, via eyeballs on screens that are gained by divisiveness and shock and mindlessness. Algorithms built for enjoyment, usefulness, connectedness and exclusion of toxicity will survive, while the others will simply wither on the ignored relay.

Same!! I’ll admit, this ecosystem is new enough to me that I don’t really know how to leverage these that I see popping up. Like the one @utxo the webmaster 🧑💻 rolled out the other day. I clicked into it to see if I could set it up and wasn’t sure where to start. I’d love a screen recording of someone implementing it. I use @primal @nos.social @Start9 and used nostr.wine as a paid relay for a bit, but not sure what where/how an alto shows up for setup or use. I was asking myself: “Is the algo like that one that I configure and ‘follow’ like a user that shows up after I configure it? Or do I set it up on my relay somehow?”
Totally. I want an algorithm and I want to pick and control it. Relay, please give me the firehose and let my client do the algorithm.
I believe we can make absolutely fantastic algorithms on nostr, where any developer can contribute to the overall efforts. I have one in the works right now that is very basic, but is already giving me a superior experience on nostr to any setup I had before with lists.
Awesome. I look forward to seeing this reach it's final form and then us all agreeing that the final form hasn't been reached because Nostr is always growing and evolving.
