One of the problems with monero is the size of the anonymity set in each block. That and the fact that the supply is not auditable.
Still definitely better then transparent blockchain for sure, isn't the anonimity set better then mixing with 99 peers in Bitcoin? About the supply 100% agreed, indeed it is not a substitute of Bitcoin, just a complement.
It's indeed one of the very few projects that I don't call a shitcoin. It has real use cases that are difficult to attain without it. Though I can't ever see it being base money for the world.
Agreed, it should be substituting cash IMHO. Bitcoin is more of a global banking system replacement. When you need spending money, swap to monero and buy groceries etc... If you need a large official international transfer, like buying a house or a business transfer, Bitcoin is perfect for the task. If you need a large transfer and privacy is of outmost importance, you still can do that with Monero. Monero is not suitable as a store of value, it is suitable for almost everything the rest.
Receiver anon set is literally every Monero user that has ever existed because of stealth addresses Sender anon set grows exponentially all by default: 16^N (N = number of hops from original transaction) 3 hops already gives us an anon set of ~4,096 and this all assumes you are not randomly chosen as a decoy for someone else during that time which would increase your anon set even further And no amounts or addresses are visible on chain, period Here search mine on any XMR block explorer: 89spcfRbp8EZZF2Qf9qJNSBjbx7fJAdJcEf64GBP1Vgg8yNrKHVLtJXLt4jWr3hcYeYUePpKfg5MkNYsjNc9sx3m3ymcMt4
