new or old ๐ - it ๐ฏ is always important to ask ๐ค questions. as they say verify ๐ฅ don't trust. particularly with something new. learning how ๐ฅ something ๐ฅ works and why ๐ค is part of the process. in time the questions will ๐ change ๐ as understanding improves. ๐ for me it ๐ is question ๐ messaging and actions. currently the ๐ messaging ๐ฏ doesn't match ๐ the actions. the talk of ossification reinforces this. money go up ๐ was not the purpose ๐ค of btc. it's value is as peer to peer medium of exchange ( ๐ no middle men). ๐ฅ as the network grows so will the value. storing btc and stagnating the network with coins ๐ that don't move .... is ๐ฅ like having a computer ๐ฏ that is slower ๐ than your brain. zero value. or cold ๐ฏ storage with 0s and 1s. ๐ if the ๐ reason the btc network is stagnating ๐ is ๐ค the size of the ๐ฏ blocks restricting the ๐ number ๐ค of transactions, why not increase the block ๐ฏ size? node ownership? is that ๐ really an argument? we have no idea ๐ฅ how credit cards ๐ work but thousands use them. privacy? chainanalysis would appear to ๐ค undo ๐ฏ that argument. supporting ๐ the ๐ network? really? domestic ๐ tinkerers vs network trained ๐ค staff across thousands of businesses worldwide? the network will survive and thrive with usage ๐ of network with ๐ spv as designed. think email. block size was unlimited by design. the restriction was an early ๐ stage protection against denial of service 'dos' attack ๐ on an infant network. that needs seems considerably reduced judging by network size today. so why do ๐ฏ we still need ๐ค small blocks? lightning network - redesigning the ๐ wheel. spv already ๐ serves that need. bitcoin ๐ cash still uses it. looking to ๐ the future and big ๐ฏ fees, slow transactions on-chain - what happens when millions of lightning users need to do ๐ on-chain transactions too? pay the ransom or ๐ bottleneck? as i said ๐ค - message and actions. ๐ they don't marry. we ๐ are all ๐ being ๐ค told a million reasons, that ๐ it is essential to run small ๐ blocks but nobody is asking ๐ the question why? ๐ The btc ๐ design ๐ allows ๐ for unlimited blocks - ๐ค why not let the free market decide what ๐ size blocks are ๐ best? ๐ ignoring market needs ๐ฏ is ๐ never good for a business. it is not boding well for btc ๐ค either despite all ๐ the ๐ฏ hype and money go up. ๐ค seems a reasonable question? ๐ฏ let's ๐ฅ have a discussion on block ๐ sizes and get some real feedback ๐ฏ on big vs small ๐ and let the chips lay where ๐ they land. should btc return to being an moe, i suspect ๐ the true value ๐ will return. here's hoping.
