AI could streamline college admissions by collating student data, suggesting colleges, filling out common applications, and applying for scholarships. AI-enabled chatbots can provide specific and contextualized responses in multiple languages to queries from citizens and deliver citizen-centric services. AI-driven governance can be replicated in domains like healthcare, agriculture, crime detection, and traffic management. The government must invest in AI infrastructure and R&D, establish a regulatory framework, provide access to domain datasets, focus on ethical development and data security, and prioritize skilling for AI. India ranks 40th out of 193 nations in AI readiness. AI-driven governance can transform the government and public service delivery.
