Beautiful, @jack mallers. 🧡 Even IF the NSA miraculously steals all of our coins, at the very least, the whole world will know the USG and its fiat financing operation is EVIL AS FUCK, and IF having large chunks of our net wealth (the expression of the very freedoms they claim to promote and defend) stolen was the only way to expose that truth, then at the very least we'll still have clear consciences, respect from our children knowing we're not the ones trying to enslave them with debt, and each fucking other to build something even better. It's win-win, really. Unlike them, we don't have to look over our shoulder (except when handling private keys). We're not fighting over FIAT scraps. We're not gaming any system. We're creating our own and we don't necessarily need bitcoin to achieve that. As long as we have TRUTH and INTEGRITY both on our side, we'll never lose. LFG 🚀
Huge fan of you and your work (seriously -big fan), but I thought your answer was pretty weak. What needs to be said when people ask these questions is “so what if we’re wrong?” Bitcoin is just code, and if we’re wrong about it, “it” being the idea that money (time and energy) should be taken out of the hand of government and given back to the people to do with what they please, then we’re wrong about that piece of code being the answer to the problem this idea was intended to solve. These questions remind me of the scene in Ready Player One when Artemis confronts Parzival about “not wanting to lose his 💩.” The real issue is that people aren’t ready to lose their life for the potential to actually find their life.

My answer: Firstly it's open source, so everybody can see exactly what it does, not just the code, but the blockchain and all transactions. Secondly, (D)ARPA created the Internet and the US Navy created Tor. A lot of the technology we have today comes from the state. Even the encryption we use today is a result of Phil Zimmermann copying and making public, state controlled RSA encryption.
We're all secretly breaking code for the NSA with our combined hashing power!!!! 🤣
