Breaking Bad is a soap opera, The Wire is a parable.  Also, Bob Odenkirk is a national treasure.  He was the best part of Breaking Bad and the human drama in Better Call Saul is more realistic while the violence is less over the top.  But of course you have to watch Breaking Bad first.
