Interesting - I chose to semi-retire at 50, so got the numbers working in my favor. And honestly thought my job was killing me (because of my Type-A personality that I struggle with even today).

I'm still planning on living to over 100, though! 😉 And teaching tennis - mostly to a bunch of juniors that want to run me all over the court - should keep me young for awhile.

It makes sense. It’s a ton of stress

Fascinating. This was done on pilots?

Good point - you would assume so by the source...but I think it probably bears out in other industries due to the high stress...and feeling that you can never catch up and will outlive your savings.

One of the most depressing things to see is a patient at age ~65 get cancer or some other horrible illness. Imagine working your entire life, getting your joy and youth taken away from you, only to die a couple years later. Fucking sucks. It's why people need to save in bitcoin.

My goal is by 40. Will I live to be 100 then? 😂🫡

People that retire at 65.2 only live one year after retirement on average?

As we get older, the odds of getting cancer increase exponentially. Then there's also heart disease and other complications of an unnatural life we lead in the 21st century.

I got sick of it last month. Went off the labour market at age 52. No retirement plan. Only minor savings.
