The game is too bad and generic to even force myself to play
I'd rather spend 100 hours playing Pyanodons mods on Factorio just trying to get through the first chain of turning wood into charcoal through a 8 step process 

Plus starfield is so badly optimized I refuse to play sub 40fps everywhere 

 Didn't spend money for a bottom rung top tier rig for shit frame rate 

 What mods would you recommend to someone who just got factorio pretty recently?

It should ask you to sync mods 
Do just that and you have the best mods for someone who started factorio.

 I'd download them all they will enhance the gameplay experience especially the calculator and cursor enhancements
