Unforgivable waste.
He had dogs, probably they got it. Growing up we had the same attitude to native critters - that only poor people ate them. But after some foreign celebrity chef starts cooking them, suddenly its fashionable. Wen cat cutlets with Sichuan sauce?
What sort of native Australian critters are edible? I know roo steak, and that's about it.
Emu is good, too. Heard positive reports about goanna and crocodile. I believe most of the smaller critters are edible but don't have enough meat to be worthwhile.
Ah of course. I though you would say stuff like wombats or dunnarts. They look very edible actually. Not emu, but ostrich I've eaten many times. Extremely lean beef-like, good for stews and that's about, in my opinion. Yeah, croc steak, ate that in China (of course), it's like anything else. Tough to chew. I'm not against it if they're using the animal for leather at least. Lizard I don't think I've ever eaten, but snakes like cobras at least are good (Taiwan, Malaysia). It was suprising because to be it was more like fish than "chicken". But it was cooked in a soup so...
I have ordered crocidile. Either I was being pranked by the restaurant or it tastes exactly like chicken!
