The Aztecs claim to have come from a place (maybe city) called Aztlan to their north. That would be west of Egypt... And linguistic construct could conceivably turn Aztlan into Aztlantis - this 'tis' being a suffix denoting subject, like in the Altaic languages, or could mean it's a city or a counting particle. I'm just speculating on how you could get Atlantis out of Aztlan, without knowing which language to look in 

 there is no doubt at all that both the aztecs and the egyptians derived their entire culture from some kind of unknown, pyramid building, advanced civilization, and that at some point they were corrupted into becoming sun worshiping king cults

i'm not surprised to hear that there could be a link between the word aztec and atlantis either... after all, between the two is a whole ocean named this now
