so far, every single question i have asked chatgpt about the plan9 rc shell has resulted in a wrong answer.
Have you tried perplexity? Have had good luck with technical questions
ill give it a go. chatgpt was quite helpful with go and posix shell. but plan9 and rc shell questions seem to be outside of its exposure.
 i tried it.
same deal.
it gives all rc shell examples using mixtures of posix and bash shell syntax.
ima hafta do it the old fashioned way and lern me things.
Bummer, you may be so far ahead you can great a useful llm
 ahead is generous
fringe maybe 😆
but i was thinking about that…
I looked into #plan9 recently, pondering about using it as a base for my work, but got the feeling that I'd quickly be impacted by some capability missing.
i cant get a read quite yet.
im sold on the paradigm. and regardless of how far i go with it, the rc shell is my main shell now. and the acme editor is incredibly powerful. i may wind up just using the plan9 port to unix, but for now ive some more digging to do. the ‘everything is a file’ paradigm is alot of fun. there is just alot there to explore.
I appreciate some of the programming concepts and using them anyway, in different implementations.
the idea i cant shake with plan9 is nostr as a file system. but i have a ways to go before i could even wrap my head around that
That's an interesting one. Of course the devil is in the details.
Are you using the original #Plan9 or some derivative?
im running the most recent 9Front fork.
the version titled, “do not install!”
The #LLM s have been impressive and save tremendous time searching through scattered webpages and wordy articles.
