I need help. Can someone please help me and hold my hand through this?

Can someone help me install bisq on my computer please?!? 😫

I am so f*ING frustrated right now...

I am just reminded why I actually never tried using bisq or any of the other p2p platforms 2+ months ago when I first start asking about and going down that rabbit hole.

I am even more frustrated realizing that now knowing how much cheaper Bitcoin was two freaking months ago.

And here I am sitting down on my computer tonight... Serious to do some study and try to set up bisq and I can't get passed the fucking download.

I am not a developer but I am also not a fucking tech retaard and yet this is beyond me. Ughhhhhhhh 😖😵‍💫😫😩

 Somebody help this lady out.
What operating system do you have?
 MacOs
best if u can arrange non-primary pc/mac device or vps
If you are running already macOS Ventura (13.0+) you need to do following to be able to start Bisq:

enter following command in Apple Terminal sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Bisq.app
hit enter and you will be prompted to enter your password to be able to execute the command as super user

After running this successfully you should be able to start Bisq as always.

If this procedure still does not allow you to install Bisq, a last resort workaround is to install Bisq in a Linux Virtual Machine running on your system.

another methood
What do you mean by "download and install login another method?"

this is NOT the first time I am installing a dmg file on my computer ever in the last 2.5+ decades!!!!!
Cool - so r u facing issues opening after install or not able to proceed in app config?
 Yes!
 https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/uninstall-delete-apps-from-mac
can't say anything more technical - work on it fresh approach
https://m.primal.net/Hjgp.png Did this half an hour ago. and 2.5 months ago.
"another method" = since this is one way of doing it
 Thank you, for asking 🙏🏻
Try going into your settings->security-> allow opening software from unverified developers.
I would verify the installer file and the link will be below for a step by step.
Then once verified install it and switch the setting back to verified developers only.

For a more step by step.

OK. Thank you. Trying to figure this part out right now.
I can't find where "allow unverified dev" option is... 😞 https://m.primal.net/Hjgj.png

I still get the pop up the app is damaged you should trash it when I do the cntrl click on app and choose open from the down menu. 😟

That just shows I am not alone.
Two months ago I was trying to follow instructions for some commands through terminal but that was a bit out of my league and it didn't seem like I was doing it right or something... Obviously... because I am back at this struggle 2.5 months later. UGH. Such a bummer.

It must not be meant to be with bisq and me.

Try not to get discouraged, it will come around you also have robosats, hodl hodl, etc
I’m sending you all my energy that it hopefully works for you with this
 Thank you!

I ended up clicking installing Update on my Os so now I am stuck for half an hour before I can use my System settings and follow some instructions.

I am jumping in the hot tub!

I might just give robosats a go again too instead after this.
Well that’s a good time to relax the brain a bit, enjoy the hot tub and afterward hop back on and give it another try.
Once you install it give it a little time to configure everything it will feel like the app froze
  1. Visit the Website: Visit [bisq.network](https://bisq.network/) to download Bisq.
 2. Download Bisq: Choose the version for your system (Windows, Mac or Linux) and download.
 3. Install: Open the downloaded file and follow the instructions to install. In Windows, it is na .exe file; on Mac, a .dmg; on Linux, it can be a .deb or .tar.gz.
 4. Open Bisq: Once installed, open the program. It will connect to the network and configure everything for you.
 5. Configure: Follow the on-screen instructions to configure your wallet and preferences.

 would robosats be another option?
 okay
BTC Session BISQ tutorial probably has what you need (https://youtu.be/4LyEKA5Iq9I?si=jjuMCGUL5b1uegdw)

I would also suggest looking at Robosats as an alternative (I prefer it over Bisq). For this you’d just need to download TOR browser (https://www.torproject.org/) and then search “Robosats” will running TOR (I works just like a normal browser), you’ll find their GitHub (https://github.com/RoboSats/robosats) which has their onion link (RoboDexarjwtfryec556cjdz3dfa7u47saek6lkftnkgshvgg2kcumqd.onion) which should be opened in the Tor Browser.

You can find a helpful BTC Sessions tutorial for Robosats here (https://youtu.be/XW_wzRz_BDI?si=5Tuu7p3kganffZp_)
Bisq is the best to buy Bitcoin!

But, yes, it can be difficult to install on a Mac. So don't be discouraged. Apple is doing this on purpose.

Apple does not want this to be installed on your computer.

Solution number 1:

1. Download the Bisq app (which is seem like you have done this)
2. Go to the "Applications" folder and go to the "Utilities" folder and open "Terminal"
3. Once in terminal you have to type in this command without the quotes
" sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Bisq.app "
4. It was ask for your log in password to your Mac and type it in and press enter.
5. Go back and now open up Bisq, it should work now
6. If it does not, then your Mac cannot install Bisq ( you can thank apple for that)
https://bisq.wiki/Downloading_and_installing#macOS

Solution number 2:
1. Get a used Laptop and I can help you install my Linux OS on it.
2. There is a good laptop reseller on ebay that I use to help people get into Linux
2. It will have Bisq and Sparrow already installed. My laptop OS is called "Sovran_SystemsOS_Light"

I have help many people use Bisq and Sparrow to buy Bitcoin withou KYC.

DM me if you need more help.

Thank you! I recall the whole command thi g didn't work 2.5 months ago. I will try this tomorrow and see. If not might do the option 2. I have a friend who's also who recycles tech and told me some months go that he might be a good source to buy a machine. Will reach out to you too ask see what makes most sense.
Welcome! Oh good to know about the command line. Yes, I would be happy to help get you a machine that runs good Bitcoin software without all the fuss.
 🦸 🧡
Hi. 😉 I am back to this thread again. Tomorrow turns out to be two weeks later. I am curious to know why you say that Bisq is the best for buying bitcoin?

Also, have you seen their recently released Bisq2?
Because it gives us the option of privacy.

Yes, Bisq2 will be much easier for newbies using the Bisq platform.
Will be... But not yet? Is it not ready to use?
Yes, it is ready. I was thinking it is not ready for the Sovran Pro. Once it is, I will release it.

I would recommend learning how to use Bisq before Bisq2. It will give you a good skill in buying bitcoin with no kyc.
Unfortunately, I could not install on my apple machine. Spent hoursbeitng tortured. And then abandoned that effort. Cos ultimately apple wouldn't let me.
yes, then get a thinkpad new or used and install linux on it. Download Sparrow wallet and Bisq or Bisq2. Then from there on use your thinkpad to buy and store bitcoin. You should only be doing bitcoin buying and selling on linux.

A used thinkpad is here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/225560037009

A new one here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CJG1RJCX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Bisq sucks. Try agora instead. Maybe robosats.
Like others were mentioning, I would personally try to figure out Robosats or even HodlHodl.com .There are simple tutorials to follow and they are web based.

I would avoid having to install apps.
im unable to reach #robosats from tor or even dex.robosats.com
That's valuable feedback. I am gonna be getting back on the figuring out stuff train later today ideally so gonna see how that's working for me.
 Download tor and use robosats
I love the idea of bisq but it's not user friendly and if you can't get it installed you definitely aren't going to be able to use it
