My mom bought a Kirby in the late 80s. Its noisy, but still works great. I have a meile that has outlasted 5 cats, 4 dogs and one, possibly two husbands (time will tell ;) )

I've had a Miele Vacuum Cleaner for years.  Still works great.  So far, the only thing I've replaced is the dust brush attachment.
I just looked it up - my Miele is 20 years old.

That's awesome. They are so good. We replaced the electrical cord retractor unit, but that's been it. I bought it in 2006
