Hello and welcome to nostr. Damus is probably my favorite app to get on the nostrverse also, but once you get used to it, you should try out some of the other apps available. The nice thing about nostr is that no matter what app you use, you take your data, followers, and follows with you to the other platforms. What sports do you like? I’m a big fan of paintball, but my kids also like soccer and baseball.

Welcome aboard! The beauty of nostr is that you control your algo based on the people, hashtags, etc. that you follow. So I'd recommend doing some cursory searching on topics of interest and follow people that you see post quality content there.
