Has anyone stayed in Jaco in Costa Rica before? Thinking of making a stop there for a couple nights on my next trip to Uvita.
I skipped it. Apparently it’s a fun party town.
I’m more interested if there’s fun small waves to surf in walking distance from the hotels. Sounds like there is. Think I’m going to check it out.
I go to Publics, near Barefoot Beach Cafe. Ohana Surf teaches there and Jamie O’Brien’s surf school teaches on the opposite side of the jetty, which is still Publics, I believe. Baby Queens is good on a small day. My all time fave is still Chuns Reef on the North Shore. That’s where I learned to surf!
ooops sorry I thought you were talking about Waikiki
Re: Jaco, on our way back from Nostrica, during a brief transfer in Jaco, the transport next to ours (who left their luggage in the van) was robbed. Luckily our transport had brought our luggage out onto the beach near the water, where they watched it the entire time, until our boat came. Jaco seemed scary IMO
Damn. Thanks for the heads up.
My favorite place to surf in CR is Playa Guiones in Nosara.
Want to stop there next time in town as well
