 Delhi Court rejects Kejriwal's plea for daily video consultation with family doctor, asks AIIMS to set up medical panel
==========

The Delhi High Court rejected a PIL seeking 'extraordinary interim bail' for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in all criminal cases. The court fined the petitioner Rs 75,000 upon dismissal. The court emphasized that the petitioner lacked standing and authority on Kejriwal's behalf. Meanwhile, Kejriwal, who has been arrested in connection with an excise scam case, is reportedly consuming food high in sugar such as mangoes and sweets on a daily basis, despite being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, according to the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The ED alleges that this dietary choice is a deliberate attempt to create grounds for seeking medical bail. Kejriwal has requested permission from the court to consult his regular doctor via video conference due to fluctuations in his sugar levels. In response, the judge has directed the authorities at Tihar jail to submit a report, including Kejriwal's diet chart, by the following day. The Supreme Court has asked the ED to respond to Kejriwal's plea challenging his arrest in a money-laundering case related to the alleged excise policy scam. The matter is scheduled to be heard in the week commencing April 29, with the ED required to submit its reply by April 24. Earlier, the Delhi High Court had dismissed Kejriwal's petition challenging his arrest and subsequent remand in the ED's custody.
