I was once like you Fred. But now I feel corruption wins more often than not so reversion to the worse possible scenario over decades will be the trajectory. The old power structures won’t go without a fight. They won’t and can’t kill bitcoin so they’ll just target bitcoiners themselves. Bitcoin doesn’t need mass adoption to win. I’m personally targeting the SoV narrative. Always have since I found bitcoin. I spend in Monero but believe Bitcoin will take gold’s crown. It’s an easy10x from here in terms of MC. We can have less than 1% of the world owning bitcoin and still win as the best SoV / savings device. In terms of an idyllic future of hyperbitcoinization I personally feel that is off the cards and I’m ok with it.
<< idyllic future of hyperbitcoinization I personally feel that is off the cards>> If things keep somewhat stable, I agree - it's off the table. But I think this decade sees a major event that really sends us in a tail spin. It could happen anytime - and likely is related to the massive trillions in debt. Fed will print $20+ trillion to 'save' the system - which will assure it's death. Fiat has never lasted more than around 100 years without a reset back to hard money. I feel what you are saying - maybe I'm overly optimistic - but we absolutely will crash and burn the current fiat system - let's see what pops out the other side.
