source routing is a big problem, it's not scalable

lightning is based on source routing

thus it has a scaling problem, it's technically more of a propensity to offline and crash failures though, and bigger, it has a scalability problem because it's impossible for nodes to know enough about the network and its state when state is such a big dataset that is not completely propagated
